. — The istanbul manufacturing market was one of the first modern architectures in turkey. It is one of the first modern architecture examples of istanbul and consisting six blocks, which form a multifunctional complex, located in the old city. Despite being an important piece of architecture in istanbul, the building has not been well preserved.


. — The most significant spatial qualities are the courtyards and the stairs. This is an open and a free-resource faculty. The spatiality is reflecting the openness.

. — The project seeks to highlight the innovative yet hidden spatial features of the old market and bring it to life. It is a lens, focusing the eye of the observer on the key moments of the historic structure. A series of subtle architectural interventions were utilised to extend the block and create new adaptive spaces. The colourisation and simple forms slip through the market creating a playful dialogue of the old and new.
